Original Hocus Pocus Opening Storyboard Art

12/31/2025

Picture
The end of 2025 is finally here and as a surprise treat, the Museum has brewed up one last surprise to end the year.

Below are 23 pages of original storyboard art that was created for the original opening of Hocus Pocus.

Although very similar to what we see on screen, these storyboards show a glimpse into the original way Thackery enters the house, including how he is dragged under the water by the water wheel. This also explains why he’s dripping wet in the opening scene.

Check out all of the storyboard art below and thank you for being a part of the Museum this year, your continued support really does mean a lot and stay tuned for more new reveals in 2026… the Museum is already brewing up a few treats!

Picture
It's that time of year again where we swap the cauldron's for the creepmas trees and spells for snowflakes!

If you're struggling to find the perfect gift for your favourite ghoul and goblin, the Museum has you covered.

Below you'll find a collection of some of the best Hocus Pocus products that would make great gifts for a friend, loved one or just a treat for yourself.

Links included are for UK and USA stores, however you will be able to find almost everything in the list below from many different stores too, so let's get into it!

Picture

Witches Run Amok!

Witches Run Amok: The Oral History of Disney's Hocus Pocus is a must, must, MUST for any Hocus Pocus fan. Written by Shannon Carlin, the book features interviews with anyone and everyone associated with the film and gives fans a glimpse into how the film came to be, it's production, reception and more!

You can pick up your copy in the UK right here and here in the USA.
Picture

Hocus Pocus Spirit Jersey

Forget the cape or cloak and grab a Hocus Pocus Spirit Jersey for your loved one this year. This Sanderson Sister's Spirit Jersey features our three favourite witches on the back, with a puffed up text print. The front also has a cute image of Binx too.

You can pick this up from the Disney Store right here.
Picture

Disney Traditions Come We Fly Ornament

This year Jim Shore added another wonderful Hocus Pocus ornament to their collection and this time it features the Sanderson Sisters on their brooms, with a graveyard and Binx below. The detail on this is incredible!

You can pick up your own ornament in the USA here or in the UK here.

The Sanderson Sister's Cottage Lego Set

The Hocus Pocus lego set was an instant hit when it was first released and this would make an amazing gift this holiday season. The set includes 2316 pieces and comes with Winifred, Sarah, Mary, Max, Allison, Dani and Binx too! This will definitely keep you busy for a few hours. Lego also announced that this particular set is being discontinued this year, so now is the time to get your hands on it, before it's too late!

You can pick up this set in the UK here and the USA here.
Picture

Hocus Pocus Loungefly

Every year Loungefly always knock the ball out of the park with their Hocus Pocus collection and this year's line is no exception. You can get your hands on a backpack, wallet and two different crossbody bags. If you could only pick one though, I would definitely recommend the Flying Dome Figural Crossbody Bag. It features the Sanderson Sisters on their brooms inside the domed lid and if you flip the switch inside the bag, not only do they begin to fly, music also plays from the bag too!

You can pick up Hocus Pocus Loungefly in the UK here and here and in the USA here.

This year saw Funko release a brand new line of Hocus Pocus Funko Minis. The set included all three Sanderson Sisters, along with a stone Winifred version too.

Hocus Pocus 2026 Calendar

The final product on this list has been included as a small update instead.

Earlier this year the museum revealed that Trends International were going to be releasing another new Hocus Pocus calendar for 2026. This would have been the 4th official calendar they have released so far, however as the release date came and went, the calendar didn't appear to be available anywhere.

The museum reached out to Trends International who confirmed that due to a lack of interest and/or licensing issue, they did not move forward with the 2026 calendar. This has been included on the list for those who might have been trying to track this calendar down and will now know why it's impossible to find.

Hocus Pocus December 3rd 1991 Script part 2

10/13/2025

Picture
T'is time... to dive into part 2 of the December 3rd 1991 script break down!

Part two includes a brand new montage scene with Binx that really should have been included in the film... you'll see why it possibly wasn't below and we also see another curse word... but this time from Binx!

Part 1 ended with the kids about to enter the Sanderson Sister's house... so let's get into what happens next!

The kids enter the cottage which is in complete darkness. Max uses the lighter he stole from Ernie to dimly light the room (lighter origin change). Inside the cottage three figures are huddled around a large cauldron, which causes Allison to scream, however she soon realises that they are just mannequins of the three sisters and not the actual witches themselves. Buckets of rain water are dotted around the cottage from the leaking roof above.

After reading about the spell book and the candle, the clouds outside drift apart to reveal a full moon, which lights up the room.
Picture
Now that Allison can also hear Binx, she begins to panic, "He says if we don't get out of here right now, we'll never get out!" she tells Max. Max however is confused as to why he can't hear what Binx is saying. "Only those that believe in magic can hear him speak" Dani tells him, which Max responds with "This is a classic case of chick hysteria."

Allison and Dani decide to leave, but Max is more concerned about leaving without Dani's trick or treating sack, as he knows his parents will kill him if he returns home empty handed. He starts looking around the house in a panic and as the clouds cover the moon once more, the room becomes much darker and harder to see. Without even thinking, Max uses his lighter to light a candle... THE candle. Dani and Binx both yowl in horror at what he has just done.
Picture
The kids run and hide, Max and Allison hide behind a wood pile and Dani jumps behind an overturned table. The sisters return to full form, suspended six feet off the ground before Winifred and Sarah gently float down to the floor, Mary however... she crashes down. They pat and blow out the last of the flames on their persons, although Mary's hat is still on fire.

As Winifred places her hand on a mannequin, it falls over and Sarah picks up the scent of children with her nose. "Let's pluck their eyes out!" Mary says before getting whacked by Winifred.

Winifred suddenly flips the table over to reveal a terrified Dani, she responds the same way in the film, however this time when Winifred says "such a pretty little girl (child)" Mary also chimes in with "pretty fingers. Pretty eyeballs."

Just as they're about to tear Dani apart, Max throws a bucket of rain water over Winifred, who becomes so angry that the water sizzles off her face. "It worked in the Wizard of Oz" says Max sheepishly. She zaps Max with a stream of crackling electrical energy, which is stopped when Dani hits her with a small pot.
Picture
The burning rain of death scene happens exactly how it does in the film however this time when Max responds with "You can talk" to Binx, Binx replies with...
Picture
Max is now able to hear Binx talk, as he has seen real magic with his own eyes and now believes. The kids flee the house just as Winifred realises that the 'burning rain of death', is just water. When they run out of the house to chase the children, they come to a stop when they see the town of Salem spread out and illuminated by thousands of lights below.

They reach the "black river" and notice a old sedan is parked near by. Mary asks what it is and Winifred responds with "'Tis a Ford... Obviously a vessel for fording this river." Sarah and Winifred then push Mary into the road, which makes them all realise that it is in fact... a road. They then run and hide in the bushes as a fire engine makes its way to the house.

Back to the kids and they've just made their way into the old cemetery.
Picture
In this version of the script we learn that the Sanderson Sister's actually stole Billy's body from the gallows and brought him back to life. They cut out his tongue and sewed up his mouth, so he couldn't share their secrets.

Back to the sisters and the firemen are just leaving the house. Mary says Sarah's line "What a pretty spider" before she starts plucking off its legs "One little leggie... two little leggies..." and then Sarah snatches it from Mary and eats it. There's a brief exchange where Winifred tells Sarah and Mary that they need to catch the children and Sarah responds with "Let them go. We will find others", Mary also complains that Sarah ate her spider, before Winifred calls them both fools.
Picture
The witches then grab their brooms and vacuum (which the handle smacks Mary in the face) and fly into the night, well... after a few bumpy attempts from Mary to get off the ground.

We now jump back to the kids and Binx in the graveyard and the following scene is one that I wish had been included in the film or at least had been filmed, so it was still out there somewhere. This scene focuses on Binx talking about his life as a cat and how it was easy and enjoyable... but then the years started to pass and we get a glimpse into what it was like for Binx. It's such a sad scene, and it's understandable as to why it didn't make it into the film.
Picture
Max asks Binx why he didn't kill himself and Binx tells them all that he did. Another montage occurs which sees Binx telling them how he threw himself down a well, ate poison berries, picked fights with bears, but he always survived and so he vowed to guard the Sanderson Sisters house and stop anyone who tried to bring them back from the dead.

As Allison is about to open the spell book, Binx dives onto it and tells her not to. Max tries to set it on fire but this time instead of nothing happening, the book exhales and the flame bursts into a ball, almost burning Max's hand. When asked why Binx didn't warn him, he responds with "Didn't feel like it."
Picture
Winifred has a small magical black sack that she wears on her belt. She pulls out a viper and throws it at Max, Binx pounces on it and kills it.

Sarah tells the children to give them the book and they'll be on their way. "No way, fatso!" Dani says back to her, "I'll be even fatter when I'm through with you" she responds back. The witches attempt to grab the book but can't get close enough, which leads Winifred to raise a certain man from the dead...
Picture
The kids follow Binx through the graveyard, as Billy chases them close behind, that is until a low hanging branch takes off his head. He fumbles around for it while the kids gain speed ahead, Just as they're about to reach a wall, Binx disappears into a hidden hole in the ground and the kids quickly follow.

Winifred commands Billy to go down into the hole and follow them and they fly off in the hopes of finding where they will reappear.

The kids and Binx are now in the sewers below Salem. Max uses his lighter to light the tunnels and they see the corners of coffins, skeleton feet and an occasional bony hand hanging out of the dirt overhead. Billy can be heard groaning behind them. "Uh-oh. It's Mildew Man" Allison calls him.

Back to the witches and they're flying over Salem. "The village is on fire!" says Sarah. "They are but lanterns. The world has changed... come" Winifred says back.

Returning back to the kids and Binx, Dani asks Allison if she likes her brother and Allison responds with a shrug. Binx tells Max that Allison does like him, but he needs to lighten up and suggests him bringing her a bird. Max tells him "You can save your advice. I'm more a dog person."
Picture
Winifred catches on quickly as to what the children are up to and she leads them up to a house. With her magic sack in hand, Mary and Sarah hold up their skirts in front of them and Winifred knocks the door. The door opens and a man dressed as a devil appears "Welcome to Hell" he says. Mary and Sarah believe him to be the "master", however Winifred is not convinced. Winifred tells him that they're seeking children and he drops a pieces of candy in her bag and her sister's skirts, telling her "well this will hold you off until you find some."
Picture
Winifred, realising what Halloween has become grabs a child and pulls of his mask. She says the same line in the film that causes Sarah to say the famous "Amuck! Amuck! Amuck! Amuck! Amuck!" however in this script, it's actually Mary saying it. Winifred tells them "See how they go from house to house collecting candy... well, we will give them candy too." and they all share an evil laugh.

It looks like Candy Crows might be making an appearance soon... stay tuned for part 3!

Disney Store Release New Hocus Pocus 2025 Collection!

9/16/2025

Picture
The Disney Store have finally released this years Hocus Pocus collection and what a treat it is!

This years new range includes a new Varsity Jacket, Spirit Jersey, Binx Plush and more. Last years range was a retro, green and black themed collection that was heaps of fun and this year, although it's a little more neutral, the products are fantastic.

So let's get into it!

Starting off with the brand new Varsity Jacket, the back features a Sanderson Sisters Witch Museum design, with added details on the sleeves and front, including Book, Binx and a cauldron! The zip is also a small crescent moon and the jacket is unisex, so it's suitable for everyone!

It wouldn't be a Hocus Pocus collection without a new Spirit Jersey and this years jersey is a lovely deep red colour. The 2024 design of the Sanderson Sisters is on the back, with a cute little Binx on the front.
One of my favourite releases from this year's collection is the Another Glorious Morning tee. The grey t-shirt has a stitch design on the front, with a silhouette of our three favourite sisters on the back. It's simple, but so fun!
Picture
The cutest product from this years collection is definitely the new Binx plush! The Binx Big Feet Plush measures 11 inches high and as you can tell from the name, he has big feet. A textile name tag with "Binx" written across the front hangs around his neck too.
Just like the Spirit Jersey's, it's not a new collection without new pins! The fun Bootique pin features the Sanderson Sisters flying outside a cute little store and it has been created in a similar style to last years character designs.

Next up is one of the coolest Hocus Pocus pins that has ever been released and that is the Jumbo Halloween Countdown Pin. This pin once again features the Sanderson Sisters, but this time they're holding an open Book, which is also a countdown. Turn the dials on the back and you can countdown from 30 to 1!

And finally this year's mystery pins! The new set of mystery pins comes in ten different designs. Each box contains two pins and if you collect them all, they spell out Hocus Pocus!

All of these and more Hocus Pocus treats are available now from the Disney Store.

Loungefly's 2025 Hocus Pocus Collection

9/5/2025

Picture
October is only around the corner and Loungefly is already putting a spell on all of us, with this year's Hocus Pocus collection!

The new line includes a new wallet, backpack and two crossbody bags, with one of the bags featuring quite possibly the coolest addition to a Hocus Pocus bag ever!

Once again we see another take on the Sanderson Sisters and I have to say I absolutely love their new design for this year. It's bright and playful and it looks like they're having a heap of fun. The gold stars against the deep blue is also a really nice touch.

The backpack for this year features the Sanderson Sisters on the front with a somewhat surprised looking Binx popping his head from amongst the gravestones in front. Binx does actually move up and down, so you can easily hide him away if needed. The sides also feature their flying devices and inside is adorned with a spell pattern.
Next up is the most expensive item of this year's line and that's the new purple velvet crossbody bag. The bag features an embroidered Binx on the front, as well as two crescent moons either side of him. Inside includes the same spell pattern as the backpack and the metal handle also features a broomstick.
This year's purse has the same design as the backpack, however this time with no Binx. The back has an adorable cloud design and inside has plenty of room for cash and cards.
Saving the best until last! The Sanderson Sisters Flying Dome Figural Crossbody Bag might very well be my all time favourite Loungefly Hocus Pocus release ever. The bag is shaped like a cauldron, with the Sanderson Sisters inside a dome on top.
When you flip the on switch (which is inside the bag) the Sanderson Sisters begin spinning around, as if they're chasing each other and what's more, the bag also plays music! I cannot wait to get my hands on this bag!

You can get your hands on all of the above releases right now via Loungefly in the USA and one of my favourite independent stores Loungefly Lovers in the UK.
