The Sanderson Sisters house was originally offered to David Kirschner after production had ended, but due to not having the space for it, he turned the offer down and the house was later destroyed.

Rumours suggest that Jennifer Lopez auditioned for the role of Sarah Sanderson.

Kathy Najimy had concerns that the film would make real witches look bad.

Stephen Spielberg was the first choice to direct the film.

In the film, human Thackery is played by Sean Murray but his voice for both Human and Cat form is done by James Marsden.

The Masters Wife's dog Ralph was Kathy Najimy's actual dog.
Sarahs costume was inspired by Sleeping Beauty, Mary's was inspired by a bakers uniform and Winifreds costume was made green as she didn't want to wear black.

The Moths inside Billy's mouth were real. A special device was created to avoid the moths going down Doug Jone's throat and it took two takes to get it right.

Sarah Jessica Parkers 10th great Grandmother was arrested in Salem for witchcraft in the 1600's. She made this discovery as a guest on Who Do You Think You Are?

David Kirschner originally hated the idea of putting I Put A Spell On You in the film and having an entire musical number, it wasn't until he saw the finished film that he realised how wrong he was and loved it.

There originally was an official theme song/promo single for the film which was 'Almost Unreal' by Roxette. Disney didn't think the song fit well with the movie and so it was removed and later used for the Super Mario Bros movie instead.

Sarah Jessica Parker would often stay in her flying harness between takes as she found it comfortable. She would hide a copy of The New York Times on her person and read it during breaks.

The fountain you see when the kids are celebrating trapping the Sanderson Sisters in the kiln, is the same fountain seen in the opening of Friends.

There were a total of seven statues made of stone Winifred.

The Master and his wife were real life brother and sister.

The original script included an entire Candy Crow storyline. Many scenes were filmed for this particular storyline, including a scene at a grocery store. These were later cut from the film and even after all of these years, have never been released.

Mary's hair was inspired by the stem of a pumpkin.

Miss Olin's necklace is actually a repurposed wristband from Avon.

The wristband played spooky music and also lit up.

Hidden behind the counter in the Sanderson Witch Museum, you can just make out a vintage box of Halloween cookie cutters or 'Cooky Cutters'.

These cookie cutters have been produced for many years and are quite popular amongst vintage Halloween collectors.

On the counter in the Witch Museum, there is a spinning display stand that contains multiple souvenir postcards of Salem. These are genuine Salem postcards that you can still find via sites like Ebay. Similar postcards are also still available in Salem!

Throughout the film there are many extras who are dressed as well known characters, this includes Michael Myers from Halloween, Hook, Mrs Potts, a Playing Card from Alice in Wonderland and even Sonic the Hedgehog. More characters can be spotted walking the streets and at the Town Hall party.

A large bag of Mother's cookies can be seen hiding behind Max's pillow on his bed. This bag can be seen in multiple shots throughout the film. Midnight snack perhaps?

The commercial that comes on Tv and causes Mary to scream was a real commercial. It first aired in 1991 and was for DuPont Stainmaster carpets.
