Five years after the 20th Anniversary event, fans were once again treated to another anniversary celebration and this event was bigger than the last!
The 25th Anniversary Bash took place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on October 2nd 2018. The show was filmed and later aired on the 20th of October as part of Freeform's 31 Nights of Halloween celebration.
Once again original cast and crew members attended the event and this time it was even more than the last! Kathy Najimy, Doug Jones, Vinessa Shaw, Thora Birch, Omri Katz, Amanda Shepherd, Kenny Ortega, Mick Garris, David Kirschner, Larry Bagby, Jason Marsden (via voice), Tobias Jelinek, Peggy Holmes, and John Debney all attended, with Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker being a part of the event via pre-recorded videos.

Calls to take part in the event were posted online via Freeform' social media pages.
The Bash was hosted by Jordan Fisher and Vanessa Hudgens and included a costume contest, which was judged by Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Margaret Cho and and Ross Mathews. A rendition of I Put A Spell On You was performed by Jordin Sparks, Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson, along with additional musical performances from PrettyMuch, Junior New System and Emily Estefan. A trivia contest was originally advertised for the event, but was later scrapped due to timing.
The event was free to attend and calls were posted online via Disney, Freeform and through social media pages. Throughout the night guests were treated to exclusive interviews from the original cast and crew, along with behind the scenes videos and images, highlighting the production of the film.
Although it originally aired on Freeform on October 20th 2018, it wouldn't be until the release of Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+ that the bash would finally receive an international release on Disney+ on the same day as the sequels release.

25th Anniversary Blu Ray
Along with the Anniversary Bash, Disney also celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Hocus Pocus with a brand new Anniversary Edition Blu Ray release.
This new release came with a 40 page Gallery Booklet which contained images and info about the film. Special features included the We ♥ Hocus Pocus: Trivia and Treats Edition.
This new edition of the film includes Fun Facts and Trivia, Deleted Scenes, Cast and Crew Commentary, Concept Art and Storyboards, Behind the Scenes Secrets and more!
The Anniversary Edition was available through various retail outlets and was also released as multiple steelbooks. A year later, the film received a new 4K release, which also was released as a steelbook too. Exclusive releases included the FYE release which included 4 glow in the dark postcards, Spell Book Steelbook exclusive to BestBuy and the Walmart Exclusive release, which included a Binx Pin.

El Capitan Theatre 25th Anniversary Screening
On October 11th 2018 the El Capitan Theatre hosted a special 25th Anniversary event.
The event included guests John Debney, David Kirschner and Thora Birch who hosted a Q&A with attendees. A string quartet also played music from the film and original props were on display for fans to view. An exclusive pin was also made available for guests to purchase.

Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel
Released in July of 2018, Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel features the original film as a new novel, along with a brand new sequel that follows Poppy, daughter of Max and Allison.

The Brew
The Brew was a mini animated series that premiered on Disney's social media pages on October 3rd 2018.
The mini series features the Sanderson Sisters answering fan questions and episodes were released weekly throughout October. Although 9 episodes were created in total, only 5 were ever released by Disney. Find out more about The Brew right here. |
